Avnon Observation Point of Yeruham Crater
The Negev craters are a unique natural phenomenon in terms of how they were created (some say ~100 million years ago). “Yeruham Crater” is one of them.
At this point, you can choose one of two options based on your hiking/climbing skills: Climb the trail leading to the top of the mountain (~100m) or walk to the trail – left of the parking lot – leading to the observation point lot. Either way, the view will leave you in complete awe. No more words are needed.
It is ~12 Km long and ~5 Km wide. The observation point is reached from Yeruham, driving on the main road (Rte. 225) to the east. After passing the eastern industrial zone, continue carefully on the winding road until you reach a right turn at the “Mt. Avnon” sign. Drive to the parking area between Mt. Avnon and the observation point.
